Epic Games’ 2 Weeks of Free Games Opens With Cities Skylines

This week, Epic Games is living up to its name and surpassing just about every gimmicky advent calendar available by offering 15 days of free games. Just the offer of a handful of indie titles would be enough to have many scrambling to download their distribution service for a look-in, but with the 15-day countdown opening with the acclaimed Cities Skylines – which currently sits at £22.99 on Steam – it’s a good sign of things to come.

In one of the most Christmassy moves this year, the digital distribution service is giving its users 24 hours per day from now until the end of the month to download a number of mystery titles. This means that whatever game is available during that 1-day window can be downloaded and kept forever, for absolutely free. Bargains don’t get more epic than that.

Cayo Perico Brings More Bonuses Than You Can Shake a Glowstick At

The biggest event in GTA Online’s seven-year history has burst onto the scene and it looks like a riot. Centred around a drug empire (what else?) with its nucleus situated on the titular Cayo Perico island, the Cayo Perico Heist offers up decadence in spades with a star-studded musical line-up that lends weight to the suspicion that all sources of entertainment will soon be rendered through our favourite online games. Which fits perfectly into our schedule.

“The Cayo Perico Heist is our way of bringing everyone together to party and dance in a safe way, while also giving players the chance to take it in our biggest and best Heist to date,” said Sam Houser , founder of Rockstar Games. “It’s been a tough and challenging year and we wanted to create something that everyone would enjoy – we can’t wait for players

The 2020 Game Awards took place yesterday and one thing is for certain – it wasn’t just the winners that made waves. The entirely-online event was chock-full of trailers to tantalise viewers, new game announcements mingled with updates such as the big reveal of Master Chief joining the Fortnite roster and, of course, there was the appearance of the beloved Keanu Reeves. And other celebrity faces, I guess.

The awards themselves saw League of Legends, Among Us and Fall Guys clinch a few of the multiplayer-related awards whilst The Last of Us Part II dominated just about every other category.

PUBG Season 10: The Sky’s the Limit in Lofty New Locale

Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds has a new Battleground in the upcoming Season 10 update. Touted as its most dense Battleground to date, the 1×1 map will feature 32 players descending into an urban environment that is all about verticality as Survivors hash it out across streets and rooftops, all while fending off the new enemy faction known as “The Pillar”. Sound like a job for your friendly neighbourhood Survivor-Man!

PUBG Season 10

In addition to the season-exclusive new map, Season 10 is also set to include several new mechanics to spice-up the dusky rooftops of Haven:

  • Pillar Tactical Truck – This fearsome new armoured AI vehicle will be trawling the streets in search of Survivors to eliminate

This New Game Just Became the Fastest-selling PC Game Ever (it’s not Cyberpunk 2077)

In some more record-breaking news, the highly-anticipated World of Warcraft expansion, Shadowlands, has officially become the fastest-selling PC game in history. While this may come as no surprise to those who are already well aware of WoW’s chart-topping player-base, the announcement on the eve of what is sure to be another record-breaking release in Cyberpunk 2077 has cemented a notion that we already suspected: 2020 has been one hell of a year for video games.

Since its release on 23rd November, the eighth expansion to reestablish WoW’s 16-year reign has sold more than 3.7 million units worldwide, surpassing a standard that was previously set by Blizzard’s own Diablo III. Which places them firmly alongside CCP Games as an overachieving games company in the habit of breaking their own records.

In addition, this year saw players spend more time in Azeroth to date than in any other year
